Körven Studio is a lighting house founded in Bordeaux, built around one simple conviction: light is not an accessory. It is what gives life to a space, reveals a material, sets an atmosphere.
Every piece we create starts from this idea — that a luminaire must do more than illuminate. It must exist.
The origin of the name
Körven comes from Old Swedish. The word refers to wicker — that supple, resilient plant that Nordic craftsmen shaped into objects built to last. A humble material, but noble. A simple gesture, but precise.
This is the spirit we carry at Körven Studio: objects conceived with rigour, crafted in materials that age well, designed to settle durably into an interior.
Raw materials
Stone, glass, brass. Materials that existed before us and will outlast any trend.
Travertine absorbs and diffuses light differently depending on the hour. Alabaster becomes translucent depending on its thickness. Brass patinas — it doesn’t age, it evolves. Hand-blown glass retains the mark of the breath that shaped it: each piece is slightly different from the next.
Properties that nothing artificial can truly replicate.
